Meet Kelly, she is a Bilingual Supervisor of Customer Care at Abba Medix. We asked her a few questions to help you get to know one of the amazing individuals who make ABBA Medix a trusted platform for patients.
How long have you been working for Abba?
I have been with Abba since fall of 2021 approximately 3 years now.
What led you to choose this career?
I’m bilingual & I’ve always enjoyed the ability to assist & help people. I was not fulfilling my potential at my previous place of work, so I was looking for a change of career. I was looking for a company that was rapidly expanding & able to offer me a place of growth. When this opportunity was offered to me, I did not have any prior cannabis background. I was initially nervous but also very curious at the same time.
What helped ease my nerves in choosing this career path was when I had my interview with the Director of Customer Care, Cindy. I could feel her sincere passion & enjoyment towards being a part of this company as she explained the company culture, mission statement & purpose. I was very drawn to the fact that they assisted & provided medical relief for our war veterans. This is why I started my career with Abba.
What do you love about working at Abba?
The company culture is amazing. My team dynamic & environment makes Abba a very pleasant place to work, I love it. Though some of us work remotely, some as far as provinces away, our tightly knit team feels as if we are all in the same office space. Our collaboration is great, each of our employees brings their own special set of strengths & skills to help provide the best possible forthcoming & outstanding service.
I was the first bilingual hire for my department. I love the ability to provide a service that makes our French-speaking community of clients feel welcomed. Being able to build rapport & connection with them & most of all receiving positive customer feedback. It gives me a sense of purpose when I hear things like “you are my favorite monthly phone call” or “thank you for providing that top notch service.”
One specific example was Abba’s role in being able to allow one of our patients to be able to live a life free of chronic pain so severe that it was keeping him from making any more lasting or meaningful memories with his loved ones. The fact that our company provides quite literally a life-changing service fills my heart with joy & makes me a proud member of my team & company.
What do you hope to contribute to the medical cannabis industry?
My goal is to continue help expand the bilingual side of our industry & encourage more potential French-speaking patients to use our services by continuing to build the connections that I have had the pleasure of establishing with our French clinics & programs that offer medical cannabis coverage. I would like to provide the best knowledge & support I can to our growing clientele of patients.
